When you eat, you produce an undesirable amount of gas. This gas happens because the digestive process is such that when it takes in more air than is required (also known as excessive belching), a lot of gas is produced. Sometimes this excess gas can also cause flatulence, or it can senor other digestive issues. Lactose intolerance can also be the culprit of too much gas. Lactose is the sugar found in milk. More specially, it is the sugar used in chewing gums and mints. When you are not aware of what you are eating due to lactose intolerance, the result is usually gas and flatulence.
The flatulence and gas problem is especially seen in those who eat many processed foods and milk. However, you need to care what you put into your mouth as well. Individual food choices will always result in excess of gas. Some examples are gas-rich beans, dairy products, carbonated beverages and various legumes.

Therefore to avoid the gas problem, it would be best to shun away from caffeinated drinks and those with excessive sugar. Lactose intolerance may also cause pain, as the digestive system does not readily absorb the sugars in these products. First, to reduce gas following a meal, try to prepare your food as quickly as possible and chew it very well. This will reduce the amount of gas produced during digestion. Do not rush the process of eating, as that may result in poor digestion skills. Also, do not eat a lot of food too fast, resulting in a low breaking down of food since the gas is not being released in the digestive system.
